In this issue of the Journal, Kastelein et al.1 report the resultsof a 2-year study comparing daily therapy with 80 mg of simvastatinplus either placebo or 10 mg of ezetimibe on the average changein carotid intima–media thickness in patients with familialhypercholesterolemia.
