To the Editor: The article by Nestler (Jan. 3 issue)1 on the use of metformin for the treatment of the polycystic ovary syndrome provides a very good review of the concerns about future diabetes and cardiovascular disease associated with this disorder and with the metabolic syndrome. However, many are unaware of the potential for endometrial disease in patients with the polycystic ovary syndrome.
